Starbucks introduce reusable cups:

It’s been hard to resist a coffee-to-go for the commute home or the cold walk to work this winter, but the guilt of all those cardboard cups does weigh heavy.

Well, no longer; Starbucks are set to introduce a new reusable plastic cup. Costing just $1 (roll-out is only to the US and Canada - so far), the eco-friendly cup saves you 10 cents every time you use it and has lines on the inside to denote Tall and Grande so your barista knows where to aim.

It’ll be interesting to see how - and if - this changes customers habits. My desk is covered in half-filled loyalty cards that I forget to take with me when I go for coffee or a burrito and I’m expecting much the same with the cups!

I love a good notebook, and you don’t often get them better than Moleskine. But that’s not all they do.

In this new stop-motion ad shows just how varied Moleskine’s collection is. They’re like an analogue Apple; there really does seem to be a product for every purpose and occasion, and they’re ridiculously pretty.

This simple, clever and lovely ad is timed perfectly for Christmas, and my notebook is on it’s last few pages. I’m just saying…

With both men and women now wearing their shorts at breathtaking heights, fashion chain Superette was presented with a unique opportunity to draw attention to their sale on short shorts. DDB Auckland ads were placed on the virgin thighs that are exposed in this latest trend, by putting indented plates across the inner city and fashion district bus stops, mall seats and park benches, so that when people sat down the message was imprinted on their thighs. This meant that as well as having branded seats, a veritable army of free media was created for Superette, with thousands of imprints being created and lasting up to an hour. Plus, by the nature of where the ads were placed, only the hippest young cats were seen advocating the brand.

These Theo limited edition chocolates are all hand-crafted by bonafide chocolatiers, but more importantly see how good they look.

The packaging on each has been really well considered - the colours reflect the flavours within (Coffee & Cream is cream and brown, while Ghost Chile is a vibrant orange-red); the type is inspired by vintage signs and chalkboards that are indicative of each flavours’ origins and the classic paper-round-foil look will always make me hungry.

Chocolate hasn’t looked this good since Willy Wonka.

Just been checking out the beta of the new USA Today site.

It’s really slick and they’ve made it as a single page application. They’re using CSS transitions to slide the panels about and it works really well in IE10. It seems to target modern browsers; the transitions dont fall back to jQuery or anything.

I’ve spent many an hour standing in the supermarket, blankly staring at dozens of lookalike labels on wine bottles. Even their names didn’t help. Always [Plant-Name] Creek or [Berry] Farm. Dull.

But no longer. Over the last few years there’s been a huge rise in the number of new wine producers, and each must have a more memorable name, bottle or box than the last in order to break out.
